New Features
The following software features are introduced in AP firmware release 7.1.1.520.830.
Feature | Description |
---|---|
ANQP Metrics | Access Network Query Protocol (ANQP) success, failure, and attempt counts are now available in RUCKUS One and RUCKUS AI. |
Improved Roaming with 802.11r Over-the-DS Fast Transition | Roaming performance has been improved with support for IEEE 802.11r Over-the-DS Fast Transition, enabling faster and smoother client handoffs between access points. |
Tri-Band APs Show Mesh Channel in Table for Better Backhaul Visibility | Tri-band APs now display the current Mesh operating channel directly in the Mesh table, enhancing visibility into backhaul link selection across the 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands. |
RUCKUS One PreEngine API Now Supports 6 GHz for Full LBS Coverage | Extended RUCKUS One PreEngine API support to include the 6 GHz (third radio) band on APs, enabling comprehensive LBS data collection across all bands. |
Wi-Fi 7 MLO Boosts Performance | IEEE 802.11be (Wi-Fi 7) introduces Multi-Link Operation (MLO), enabling seamless traffic steering and enhanced performance across multiple frequency bands. Current access points support Enhanced Multi-Link Single-Radio (eMLSR) mode, allowing client devices to monitor multiple links while transmitting on one, thereby reducing latency and improving efficiency. |
Improved TX Power & 6 GHz Support | Enhancements to TX power and 6 GHz support have been implemented across Venue, Wi-Fi, and AP configurations, improving visibility, compliance, and performance in multi-band deployments. |
AFC Enables 6 GHz in Canada | Added Automated Frequency Coordination (AFC) support for 6 GHz operation in Canada, enabling compliant dynamic spectrum access for Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 access points. |
Seychelles Support Added to RUCKUS One | Support for Seychelles (country code SC) has been added to RUCKUS One, enabling compliant access point deployments with region-specific power limits and certified model support. |
Redundancy Support for SoftGRE Gateway in RUCKUS One | Added redundancy support allowing access points to automatically fallback to the primary wireless access gateway (WAG), otherwise known as the SoftGRE gateway, once it becomes reachable, ensuring optimal tunnel routing and service continuity. |
Enhanced AP Properties: PoE Visibility in RUCKUS One | AP Properties now display PoE port speed, class, and allocated power—when supported by LLDP and PoE-powered access points—enhancing visibility into power negotiation and usage. |
Embedded IoT Controller UI Integration in RUCKUS One | RUCKUS One now supports embedded access to the IoT Controller UI, enabling seamless management of IoT functions directly within the platform. This integration includes secure redirection, controller summary dashboards, and licensing support. |
