August 2024 Release Information

New Features

The following software features are introduced in this release.

Feature Description
Applying switch configuration profile changes ICX switch administrators can now choose whether to apply profile configuration changes to existing switches when updates are made, or when new switches are added to a venue. This option applies to both cases: changes to the profile configuration (such as add, update, or delete) and the addition of new switches during pre-provisioning deployments.
RUCKUS WAN Gateway (RWG) RUCKUS One now integrates with RWG, enabling comprehensive monitoring and seamless cross-launching. Administrators can effortlessly transition from RUCKUS One to the RWG interface using direct links for configuration changes, with API communication supporting monitoring and selective updates. Each RWG device requires a public IP or FQDN, and consumes one subscription from the RUCKUS One pool.
Enabling AFC for APs

At the Venue level: On the Wi-Fi Configuration page, in the 6 GHz tab, the toggle button is renamed from Enable AFC to Enable Indoor AFC, with a description indicating that Automated Frequency Coordination (AFC) will be automatically enabled for outdoor APs. The toggle button is used to manually enable and disable AFC for indoor APs only. At the AP level: On the Radio configuration page, in the 6 GHz tab, the toggle button is hidden for outdoor APs.

Table 1. New Features for AP 7.0.0.200.6352 Firmware
Feature Description
Support for T670 and R670 RUCKUS One now supports Wi-Fi 7 AP models T670 and R670. Users can configure the R670 and T670 APs through the RUCKUS One web interface or the public API. After the configuration is complete, RUCKUS One can generate model-specific Generic Protocol Buffers (GPB) and activate the corresponding functions for the R670 and T670 APs.
Switchable RF Users can select the radio mode for the R670 and T670 APs, allowing them to switch between tri-band and dual-band modes. In tri-band mode, the R670 and T670 support simultaneous operation on the 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz bands. In dual-band mode, they support simultaneous operation on the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands.
Support for R350e RUCKUS One now supports the new AP model R350e.
Channel separation in 6G band Users will be able to configure indoor and outdoor channel ranges separately for the 6G radio. The primary objective of this feature is to facilitate indoor and outdoor channel separation in the 6G frequency band, considering that different countries may have varying available channels.
3K key support between the AP and RUCKUS One This enhancement strengthens the keys used for TLS and SSH connections between the AP and RUCKUS One. All connections between the AP and RUCKUS One are established using TLS.
6G support RUCKUS One supports 6G radio for Kenya, Morocco, and Turkey.
Configuring the trunk port VLAN untag ID RUCKUS One allows you to modify the trunk port VLAN untag ID. This flexibility ensures efficient network management and seamless communication across different VLANs.
U-NII-3 support Support has been added for U-NII-3 channels in EU countries, which allows the use of the C-band. This enhancement applies to specific AP models across different AP firmware versions.
Note: These features are only supported on APs running firmware version 7.0.0.200.6352 and later.

Enhancements

The following enhancements are introduced in this release.

Enhancement Description
Switch-level VLAN Support Users can now add, edit, and delete VLANs directly from the VLANs tab on the Overview page for a specific switch,, bypassing the need to modify the venue-level configuration profile.
Reduced time for alarm notifications The feature addresses reducing notification delays for device alarms and their aggregation settings.
Display Floor number along with floorplan name For easier navigation, the floor number now appears next to the Floor Plan name on the Overview page for a specific venue.
MSP Portal Unique Naming Enforcement Unique name enforcement now applies only to new MSP Customers and Tech Partners, with no changes to existing names. MSP network administrators must ensure that names for new MSP Customers and Tech Partners are unique.
Add a search function to Wired Network Profiles A search functionality has been added to the Configuration Profiles and On-Demand Configuration tabs, simplifying the process of locating and managing profiles.
