November 2024 Release Information
New Features
The following software features are introduced in this release.
Feature | Description |
---|---|
RBAC and ABAC Support | Role-based access control (RBAC) and attributes-based access control (ABAC) are functionalities that provide a structured and efficient approach to managing administrator permissions and access rules in RUCKUS One. |
Support SoftGRE over Wireless | SoftGRE is now supported on the wireless network, enabling WLAN traffic tunneling to remote locations for enhanced connectivity. |
IntentAI | IntentAI is introduced. IntentAI is an advanced AI-powered framework designed to autonomously manage and optimize wireless networks by interpreting and executing user-defined network intents. With AI-driven features such as AI-Driven RRM, EquiFlex, and AI Operations, IntentAI continuously monitors network conditions, dynamically adjusting configurations to align with user-specified priorities, such as maximizing throughput, supporting high client density, or reducing interference. Leveraging AI and machine learning, IntentAI simplifies network management, enhances performance, and adapts to changing conditions in real time, offering a seamless and intelligent approach to wireless optimization. |
EquiFlex | EquiFlex is introduced. EquiFlex is an AI-driven intent within the IntentAI framework, that optimizes Wi-Fi performance in high-density environments by intelligently managing probe responses. By reducing unnecessary management traffic, EquiFlex enhances network efficiency and improves the overall user experience, especially in networks with a high number of Wi-Fi clients. |
Different dates for Paid and Trial license subscriptions | This new feature provides more flexibility to MSP administrators when assigning MSP licenses from the MSP subscriptions pool to their own MPS Account. Now, it is possible to assign both Paid Licenses and Trial Licenses to the account with different quantities and different expiration dates. |
NTP Configuration | ICX Switches now apply NTP configuration to all managed switches, including both Greenfield and Brownfield, to ensure reliable timestamps across all devices. |
Enhancements
The following enhancements are introduced in this release.
Feature | Description |
---|---|
AP firmware version management | AP firmware management and upgrades are now supported on a per-model basis across a venue, enabling tailored updates for each AP model. |
Enhanced email invitation for MSP customers | The MSP email invitation to MSP Customers was enhanced with more details and broken links have been fixed. |
SNMPv3 Agent Passphrase Security Enhancement | New password complexity rules with a graphical password complexity indicator are introduced for the SNMPv3 Agent in the RUCKUS One web interface. |
SMS Service Provider | You can now select a messaging service while configuring Twilio as a service provider. |
Show options to configure 2.5-Gbps and 5-Gbps speeds for ICX 7850-48C | You can configure show options for 2.5-Gbps and 5-Gbps speeds in RUCKUS ICX switch model ICX 7850-48C running on firmware versions FastIron 10.0.10f or later, and FastIron 10.0.20b or later. |
AI-Driven RRM and AI Operations are available through IntentAI | The previous AI-driven features, including AI-Driven RRM and AI Operations, are now integrated into the IntentAI framework. These features, along with the new EquiFlex intent, continue to provide intelligent recommendations and network optimization based on real-time analysis. This integration streamlines the management of AI-driven network operations, making it easier to define and implement specific performance goals while ensuring continuous optimization aligned with user-defined network priorities. |
UI change | The menu item Settings on the MSP Dashboard used for configuring the MSP Portal is renamed to Portal Settings. |
