AI-Driven RRM

The AI-Driven RRM page displays all the recommendations for reducing co-channel interference for all network venues.

On the Navigation bar, click AI Assurance > AI Analytics > AI-Driven RRM. The AI-Driven RRM page is displayed. The AI-Driven RRM page displays all the recommendations in a table for the selected time period in the Date and Time filter. Each recommendation is made up of a number of attributes as shown in the following table. You can use the search option to search the required recommendation by its summary, venue, venue RRM health, and status.
AI-Driven RRM Page
The table has the following attributes:
  • Venue RRM Health: AI-Driven RRM displays RRM health visibility for all venues. Apart from the optimized and non-optimized statuses, additional scenarios such as verified, verification error, insufficient licenses, no AP, and unqualified venue are also covered. It helps you to understand the underlying missing configurations and optimize the network by leveraging RRM feature across all venues. Venue RRM Health statuses are described in the table below.
    Table 1. Venue RRM Health
    Venue RRM Health Description
Optimized Indicates that the AI-driven RRM recommendation is applied to all the APs in a venue and the venue is in optimized condition.
Non-Optimized Indicates that there are interfering links and co-channel interference in a venue. An AI-Driven RRM recommendation is available to improve the sub-optimal configuration. The recommendation provides an optimized choice of channel and channel width. Click the icon to apply the most recommended parameters to all the APs in the venue, which will reduce the number of interfering links and co-channel interference.
Insufficient Licenses Indicates that the license compliance requirement is not honored and the venue has insufficient licenses. AI-Driven RRM recommendations are triggered only for venues with 100 percent licensed APs. .

If you assign the missing licenses for the APs added to the venue, it will take a maximum of three days to reflect the change in the RRM Health state.

Verified Indicates that the venue is already AI verified and is in an optimal state. RUCKUS One does not recommend any changes to the RRM configuration. It will continue to monitor the venues and raise a recommendation if an improvement is required.
Verification Error Indicates that the venue does not meet the required criteria or standards to support AI-Driven RRM. For example, RRM recommendations are not generated when the controller version is below pre-requisite levels.
Unqualified Venue Indicates that the venue does not meet the required criteria or standards to generate AI-Driven RRM recommendations. This status is displayed in the following scenarios:
    • When more than 20% of the Access Points (APs) in the venue have configurations with AP overrides.
    • When the venue has mesh configuration enabled.
In these scenarios, RRM recommendations will not be generated.
No APs Indicates that there are no APs in the venue.
  • Date: Displays the date and time the recommendation was created.
  • Summary: Displays the count of interfering links reduced after applying the recommendation.
  • Venue: Displays the affected venue name.
  • Status: Displays the status of the recommendation. The status is New when the recommendation is available but not applied. The status changes to Scheduled after you have scheduled to apply the recommendation. It changes to Applied after the scheduled recommendation has applied the change. If applying the recommendation fails, the status changes to Failed. The status changes to Reverted if a recommendation was previously applied but subsequently reverted. Every state change triggers an email message to the network administrator providing information about the status. For more information, refer Table 2.
  • Action: Displays the Apply and Revert icons. Click Apply icon to apply the recommendation. Click Revert icon to revert to the previous configuration settings.
  • Full Optimization: Allows you to toggle between full optimization and partial optimization. By default, full optimization is enabled. RRM recommendation with full optimization considers channel plan, channel bandwidth, and Tx power to optimize the venue.

The toggling option for full optimization and partial optimization is applicable only for the New or Reverted recommendations. When a recommendation is in Applied, Scheduled, or Apply Scheduled state, the toggle button is greyed out and you cannot change the optimization criteria. In such a scenario, you must first revert the recommendation state to New before changing the optimization criteria.

Turn off the toggle button to choose partial optimization and only the channel plan is considered for optimization. RRM recommendation with partial optimization does not consider channel bandwidth and Tx power. When you turn off the toggle button to select partial optimization, the RRM item will be greyed out and a new recommendation is generated within the next 24 hours only if a better channel plan for the venue is available.

Table 2. Recommendation States
State Name Description Possible Actions
New Recommendation is available. Schedule a day and time to apply the recommendation. Apply or Mute
Scheduled Recommendation has been scheduled. Edit Schedule or Cancel
Applied Recommendation has been successfully applied and RUCKUS One will monitor this configuration change for the next seven days. Revert or Mute
Failed An error was encountered when the recommended configuration change was applied and no configuration change was made. Apply or Mute
Interrupted (Recommendation is not applied) RUCKUS One has detected a manual configuration change in RUCKUS One that may interfere with this recommendation. The scheduled recommendation is canceled. Manually check if the recommendation is valid. Apply or Mute
Interrupted (Recommendation is applied) RUCKUS One has detected a manual configuration change in the RUCKUS One that may interfere with this recommendation. Results from the monitoring of this configuration change may not be relevant. Manually check if the recommendation is valid. Revert or Mute
Revert RUCKUS One has detected a degradation in network performance after the application of the recommended configuration. Recommended to immediately revert to previous configuration settings. Revert or Mute
Revert Scheduled A reversion to undo the configuration change has been scheduled. Scheduled
Revert Failed An error was encountered when the reversion was applied. No reversion was made. Revert the configuration manually from the controller. Revert or Mute
Reverted A reversion has been successfully applied. Mute
Insufficient Licenses License compliance requirement is not honored and the venue has insufficient licenses. Manage and assign licenses to the APs.
Verification Error Basic prerequisites to support AI-Driven RRM is not fulfilled and certain network configurations are not aligned with AI-Driven RRM considerations. Other reasons include:
  • Unsupported Controller version
  • RRM internal errors:
    • Missing CCM data for access points
    • Algorithm Failure
    • No data to calculate KPIs
    • Post algorithm checks failed
    • Error in channel plan generation.

It is recommended to open a ticket with RUCKUS customer support for resolve or understand the RRM internal errors.

Verified The venue is already AI verified and is in an optimal state. No action required.
Unqualified Venue Indicates that the venue does not meet the required criteria or standards to support AI-Driven RRM. This status is applied in the following scenarios:
  • When more than 20% of the Access Points (APs) in the venue have configurations with AP overrides.
  • When the venue has mesh configuration enabled.
In these scenarios, RRM recommendations will not be generated.
No APs There are no APs in the venue.

The network hierarchy filter and Date and Time filter are displayed in the upper-right corner of the Content panel. This option controls the elements displayed within the Content Panel. To modify this option, refer to Navigating the RUCKUS One Portal.
