Managing MAC Addresses for an Identity

You can manually add a device’s MAC address to an identity.

Ensure that MAC Registration is enabled for the Identity Group before proceeding.
Complete the following steps to add a device to an identity from your RUCKUS One account.
  1. From the navigation bar, select Clients > Identity Management > Identities List.
    The Identity Management page displays the Identities sub-tab.
  2. Click the name of the identity you want to update.
    The identity's Overview page is displayed.
  3. Select the Mac Addresses tab.
    The MAC Addresses page is displayed with the following details for the MAC addresses associated with the identity:
    • MAC Address: Displays the MAC address of the device associated with the identity.
    • Username: Displays the username associated with the MAC address entry.
    • Status: Displays the current status of the MAC address (for example, active or inactive).
    • E‑Mail: Displays the email address associated with the MAC address entry.
    • Registration Date: Displays the date when the MAC address was registered.
    • Expiration Date: Displays the date when the MAC address entry expires.
    • Device Name: Displays the device name associated with the MAC address, if available.
    • Location: Displays the location where the device is registered or associated.
    You can use the Search option to display only the table entries matching the specified MAC Address; enter a minimum of two characters.
    You can customize which fields appear in the table by clicking the icon and selecting or deselecting the desired column names. Drag and drop individual column names up or down the list to customize the left‑to‑right column display in the table. Optionally, you can click Reset to default to have the default subset of columns. Click Clear Filters to reset the filters.
  4. Click Add MAC Address to add a device that you wish to associate with this identity.

  5. Configure the following information:
    • MAC Address: Enter the device’s MAC address.
    • Username: Enter the username assigned to the device.
    • Email: Enter the associated email address.
    • Device Name: Enter a descriptive device name.
    • Location: Enter the device’s location.
    • MAC Address Expiration: Select Never expires (Same as list) or choose By date and specify an expiration date.
  6. Click Add.

    The MAC address is added to the identity’s registered devices list. For more information refer to Managing MAC Registrations.
