Enforcing a Configuration Template

When a template is enforced, all the instances (created before or after enforcement) adhere to the enforcement settings. When an instance is enforced, the configuration service blocks direct changes from the MSP EC tenants and allows only template synchronization from the MSP tenant.

Complete the following steps to enable the enforcement setting for a configuration template.
  1. In the navigation bar, select Templates.
  2. On the Configuration Templates page, click Add Template.
A drop-down menu listing template options is displayed.
    Configuration Templates - Add Template

  3. Select a template type. The Enforce template configuration is supported for the following template types:
    • Wi-Fi Network
    • Venue
    • DPSK
    • RADIUS Server
    • Wi-Fi Calling
    • Webhook
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the configuration.
Note: This topic assumes that you are familiar with the process of configuring Wi-Fi networks, AP groups, venues, wired switch profiles, services, identity groups, and webhooks using the RUCKUS One portal. Refer to the RUCKUS One User Guide for more information.
  5. Toggle the Enforce template configuration switch on to ensure that all direct changes on template-activated elements are blocked to enforce compliance with the template configuration.
  6. Click Add.
The Configuration Templates page is displayed. The Enforcement column displays whether the template is enforced or not enforced.
Note: The -- indicates that the template is not enforced and the Enforce template configuration option is not supported by the template type.
