When a template is enforced, all the
instances (created before or after enforcement) will adhere to the enforcement settings.
When an instance is enforced, the configuration service blocks direct changes from the MSP
EC tenants while only allowing template synchronization from the MSP tenant.
Note: The enforcement setting is
supported only for the Wi-Fi Network, Venue, RADIUS Server,
DPSK, and
Wi-Fi
Calling configuration templates.
Complete the following steps to
enable the enforcement setting for a configuration template.-
From the navigation bar, select
Templates.
-
In the Configuration
Templates page, configure the enforcement setting while adding a
new configuration template or editing an existing one:
- Click Add Template
and then select the supported configuration template as per your
requirement.
- Click the radio button
for a specific configuration template and then click Edit.
-
Enable enforcement. On the first
page of the Create (Add) New/Edit Template wizard, toggle
on the Enforce
template configuration option. When enabled, all direct changes
by the MSP EC on elements that are template-configured will be blocked, thereby
enforcing compliance with the template configuration.
-
Follow the on-screen
instructions to complete creating the configuration template.
-
Check the MSP EC tenant for the instance created by this template.
The Apply button
in the Edit Template instance and the Delete option
from the associated Template List page will be disabled and greyed out due
to enforcement from the configuration template.
In the Configuration Templates page,
use the Enforcement drop-down menu or column to filter or organize,
respectively, the list of templates by enforcement status (Enforced or Not Enforced).
