Wireless: Airtime by Access Points

The Wireless: Airtime by Access Points report provides detailed insights into airtime utilization metrics for individual access points. These metrics reflect average percentages of airtime for various activities, offering a comprehensive view of radio resource usage at each AP. The report helps assess how airtime is distributed across busy, idle, Rx, and Tx states, enabling better evaluation of AP performance.

Complete the following steps to view the Wireless: Airtime by Access Points page.
  1. On the navigation bar, select Business Insights > Reports. The Reports page is displayed.
  2. Click View on the Wireless: Airtime by Access Points tile under Adhoc Reports. The Wireless: Airtime by Access Points page is displayed.
Airtime by Access Points Report

The Wireless: Airtime by Access Points tabular report includes the following columns:

  • AP Name: Displays the name of the access point from which the data is collected.
  • Time: Displays the time range during which the data is collected.
  • Avg Airtime Busy: Displays the average percentage of time the AP’s radio was actively transmitting or receiving data.
  • Avg Airtime Idle: Displays the average percentage of time the radio was idle (that is, not transmitting or receiving).
  • Avg Airtime Utilization: Displays the total average percentage of airtime consumption by the AP.
  • Avg Airtime Rx: Displays the average percentage of airtime spent receiving data on the AP.
  • Avg Airtime Tx: Displays the average percentage of airtime spent transmitting data from the AP.

The top right corner of the Wireless: Airtime by Access Points page displays options to export reports in PDF or PNG formats and configure scheduled email delivery to share reports with selected recipients. You can share the report with recipients over e-mails on-demand or periodically by configuring a schedule (daily, weekly and monthly).
