Managing Dynamic Pre‑Shared Key (DPSK)
passphrases from the RUCKUS One web interface is essential for maintaining a secure and efficient Wi-Fi
environment. The DPSK security method assigns each user or device a unique passphrase,
reducing the risk of unauthorized access and preventing password leaks.
This approach allows administrators
to revoke or update individual credentials without disrupting the entire network, making
it easier to scale and manage large groups of users. Proper management of DPSK
passphrases helps maintain stronger security, enables better tracking of individual
users, and simplifies the onboarding process while allowing centralized control over
network access.
Note:
By default, RUCKUS One creates an associated identity when you create a DPSK
passphrase. When DPSK-Identity Decoupling is enabled, creating an identity is
optional. If you do not create an identity, the DPSK passphrase is managed
independently and is not associated with identities used for MAC Authentication,
Certificate Authentication, or other authentication services.
