Performing Client Connectivity Diagnostics

Client Connectivity Diagnostics helps troubleshoot network and wireless client connectivity issues by providing visibility into connection stages, timeline events, and encryption behavior to identify potential problem areas.

Complete the following steps to start a client connectivity trace:
  1. On the navigation bar, select Clients > Wireless > Wireless Clients List.
The Wireless page is displayed, defaulting to the Clients List tab.

  7. Review the diagnostics timeline to identify connection steps, failures, or delays using visual indicators.
    Trace Connectivity Results
The diagnostics display a visual trace of the client connection process, including sequential events, connection stages, and status indicators to help isolate issues. You can view WLAN encryption types using color indicators in the diagnostics graph. Each color represents the encryption method used during the client connection. The color indicators represent the following encryption types:
    • Orange: Open
    • Light Orange: WPA
    • Green: WPA2
    • Pink: WPA mixed
    • Light Green: WPA3
    • Blue: WPA2/WPA3 mixed
    • Cyan/Teal: Default or legacy encryption
  8. Hover your cursor over the icon to view a tooltip that explains each encryption color.
    Note:
    • Encryption color indicators are displayed only for access points running firmware version 7.2 or later.
    • For earlier firmware versions (6.x, 7.0, and 7.1), encryption information is displayed without color indicators.
  9. (Optional) Click Stop to stop an ongoing trace.
  10. (Optional) Click Clear to reset the selected client, venue, and access points.
