Viewing Wi-Fi Clients

From the Clients page, you can view Wi-Fi clients that are associated with your managed devices.

Complete the following steps to view the Wi-Fi clients.
  1. From the RUCKUS One web interface, click Clients to expand the menu.
  2. Click Wireless Clients List.
    The Wireless Clients page displays the clients that are currently associated with your managed APs and their details, including the following columns:
    • Hostname: Displays the client device hostname.
    • OS: Displays the operating system detected on the client device.
    • Health: Displays the current connection health status of the client.
    • MAC Address: Displays the MAC address of the client device.
    • MLD MAC Address: Displays the MAC address of the Multi‑Link Device (MLD) associated with the wireless client.
    • IP Address: Displays the IP address assigned to the client device.
    • User Name: Displays the username used to authenticate the client, if available.
    • Identity: Displays the client identity provided during authentication.
    • AP: Displays the access point to which the client is connected.
    • AP BSSID: Displays a unique MAC address assigned to an access point radio for a specific frequency band. Each AP typically has one BSSID for 2.4 GHz and one for 5 GHz.
    • Venue: Displays the venue to which the client is connected.
    • Switch: Displays the switch associated with the client connection, if applicable.
    • Network: Displays the wireless network (SSID) used by the client.
    • Network Type: Displays the authentication and security type of the wireless network.
    • Time connected: Displays the duration for which the client has been connected to the network.
    • VLAN: Displays the VLAN ID assigned to the client traffic on the network.
    • VNI: Displays the Virtual Network Identifier (VNI) associated with the client session.
    • Device Type: Displays the type of client device connected to the wireless network.
    • Model Name: Displays the hardware model name of the client device.
    • Traffic (Session): Displays the amount of network traffic generated by the client during the current session.
    • Traffic To Client: Displays the amount of network traffic sent from the network to the client during the current session.
    • Traffic From Client: Displays the amount of network traffic sent from the client to the network during the current session.
    • RSSI: Displays the received signal strength indicator (RSSI) value for the client connection, measured in dBm.
    • SNR: Displays the signal‑to‑noise ratio (SNR) for the client connection, measured in decibels (dB).
    • Radio Type: Displays the radio band used by the client connection (for example, 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, or 6 GHz).
    • CPE MAC Address: Displays the MAC address of the customer premises equipment (CPE) associated with the client connection.
    • Auth Method: Displays the authentication method used by the client to connect to the wireless network.
    • Auth Status: Displays the current authentication status of the client connection.
    • Encryption: Displays the encryption method used to secure the client’s wireless traffic.
    • Packet To Client: Displays the number of packets sent from the network to the client during the current session.
    • Packet From Client: Displays the number of packets sent from the client to the network during the current session.
    • Packet Dropped: Displays the number of packets that were dropped during the client session.
    • RF Channel: Displays the radio frequency (RF) channel on which the client is currently connected.

    If a large number of associated clients are displayed on the page, you can sort them by the column names. To sort clients by the column name, click the name of the column (for example, Venue). Refer to Filtering Associated Clients for more information.

  3. Click the Hostname (hyperlink) to view details of the wireless client (connected or disconnected).

    The Hostname page displays a pane with four tabs for Overview, Troubleshooting, Reports, , and Timeline along with a right pane for Client Details, Operational Data (Current), and Connection.

  4. Click items highlighted in blue to view more information (for example, Venue, AP, Switch, and Network).
