Viewing Switch Client Lists

You can view, monitor, and manage switches within your network from the Switch Clients List page.

To view the wired switches, complete the following steps.
  1. On the RUCKUS One web interface, navigate to Clients > Wired > Switch Clients List.
    The Switch Clients page displays the switches that are currently associated with your managed devices with the following fields:
    • Hostname: Displays the hostname of the switch. Click the switch name (hyperlink). The Switch page is displayed and you can view details about the switch Status, Client Details, and Connection.
    • Alias: Displays the alias name. Administrators and guest users can rename the client alias. The alias names must be 1–256 characters long. You can edit the alias name by selecting the appropriate checkbox beside the hostname and select Edit. The Edit Alias sidebar is displayed where you can enter a new alias name.

      You can also use the Alias filter to control which switch clients appear in the Switch Clients tab based on whether they have an alias name. The filter options include All, Alias, and Non‑Alias

    • OS: Displays the operating system running on the switch.
    • MAC Address: Displays the MAC address of the switch.
    • Description: Enter a short description about the switch.
    • IP Address: Displays the IP address of the switch.
    • Venue: Displays the venue the switch is associated with.
    • Switch: Displays the switch name.
    • Port: Displays the port number.

      You can click on the port number (hyperlink) to edit the port details. For more information, refer to Editing a Switch Port.

    • VLAN: Displays the VLAN ID of the switch.
    • Device Type: Displays the device type.
    • VNI: Displays the Virtual Network Identifier (VNI); a 24-bit identifier in VXLAN that links local VLANs to virtual Layer 2 segments, enabling them to communicate across a Layer 3 IP-based network.
    • Authentication: Displays the authentication method used by the switch to identify devices or users to allows access to the network.
    • Model Name: Displays the model name of the switch
    If a large number of associated clients are displayed on the page, you can sort them by clicking on the column names (for example, Venue). You can search the table using MAC Address, Description, Device Type, Venue, Switch, and VLAN fields.
