An application token allows secure API communication between the defined third-party application and RUCKUS One. You can generate an application key and use the client ID and shared secret for the application authentication for API usage.

1. From the navigation bar, click Administration > Account Management > Settings.
2. In the Settings page, scroll down to the Application Token section.
3. Click Add Token.
   The Add API Token dialog box is displayed.

   

4. In the Add API Token sidebar, complete the following steps:
   1. For Application Name, enter the name of the application. The Client ID is generated automatically.
   2. Click Copy to copy the Client ID. The Client secret is generated automatically.
   3. (Optional) Click Generate Secret to generate the client secret again.
   4. Click Copy to copy the client secret.

   

5. For Scope, select one of the following options:
   • Prime Admin
   • Administrator
   • Guest User
   • Read-Only
   • DPSK Manager
6. Click Add.
   The API token generation is complete.

   

7. Use the Client ID and Shared Secret in a third-party application for interacting with RUCKUS One via API calls.
