Switchable Radio Frequency Support
The RUCKUS One web interface supports Switchable Radio Frequency (RF) at the venue and AP levels for AP models that support band management.
Feature Overview
The Switchable RF Support feature allows users to configure the band management setting for all AP models that support band management at the venue and AP levels.
The two supported modes are:
- Dual-band:
- R670 and T670 APs: 2x2 in 2.4GHz and 4x4 in 5GHz
- R760 AP: 4x4:4 in 2.4GHz and 5GHz
- Tri-band:
- R670 and T670 APs: 2x2 SU-MIMO, 2x2 MU-MIMO in 2.4 GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz
- R760 AP: 4x4:4 in 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz
Following are the benefits:
- Flexibility: Allows users to configure band management and switch between different radio bands.
- Network management: A single AP can handle different radio bands at the same time, leading to efficient network management.
Requirements
Switchable RF is supported on AP models R670 and T670.
Considerations
Consider the following system behavior changes for band management setting in R670 and T670 APs:
- If the band management setting is configured in the Venue first for R670 and T670 APs (before the APs join the RUCKUS One network), the newly added R670 and T670 APs will follow the venue configuration.
- If the band management setting is not configured in the Venue for R670 and T670 APs before the APs join the RUCKUS One network, the newly added R670 and T670 APs will, by default, operate in 2.4GHz - 5GHz mode. This will trigger the band management setting in the Venue to default to 2.4GHz - 5GHz mode for R670 and T670 APs. You can edit the band management settings in the supported APs at any time.
