Migration of ZoneDirector AP Radio and Channel Configuration to RUCKUS One

When a ZoneDirector-managed AP is migrated to RUCKUS One, the related AP radio and channel configuration is migrated.

Migration Overview

You can view the migrated radio and channel configuration settings from the Venue and Wi-Fi > AP List menus.

Refer to the following table to determine the scope of radio and channel configuration migration from ZoneDirector to RUCKUS One:

Channel Range (Channel selection in RUCKUS One) Channels enabled/disabled in ZoneDirector are retained in RUCKUS One. In a scenario where the channels enabled in ZoneDirector are not supported in RUCKUS One, then those channels will not be migrated to RUCKUS One.
5.8 GHz Channels enabled in ZoneDirector are retained in RUCKUS One.
AP Group 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz If the radio or channel settings of the ZoneDirector AP are inherited from the customized AP group or default AP group, then these settings are cascaded in to RUCKUS One AP after migration.

Considerations

Only when the following options are enabled or configured in ZoneDirector, will they be migrated to RUCKUS One.

  • Allow indoor channels (allows Outdoor APs to use channels regulated as indoor use only) option (System > System Settings > Country Code > Channel Mode) from ZoneDirector will be migrated as the Use same channels for indoor and outdoor APs option in RUCKUS One.
  • Enable 5.8 GHz channels option configured in ZoneDirector will be migrated to RUCKUS One.
