Onboarding Sub-agent
The Onboarding Sub-agent guides users through network setup by providing step-by-step recommendations and automating configuration tasks based on user inputs.
Feature Overview
The Onboarding Sub-agent guides you through network setup with a clear, step-by-step process that ensures easy navigation. It interacts directly with you to offer personalized suggestions and configurations tailored to your specific needs. By leveraging AI, the agent simplifies complex onboarding tasks, boosting efficiency and productivity. It also helps you manage essential network tasks, including configuring networks and handling Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) settings on switches. The agent proactively detects errors—for instance, if you select a venue name already in use, it prompts you to choose a different one.
You access the Onboarding Sub-agent interactive wizard through the RUCKUS Digital System Engineer (DSE) chat interface by clicking the system-defined option, Help me set up my network, and following the instructions provided in the chat. When the wizard is launched, it prompts you for inputs such as venue type, deployment size, and network requirements. Based on this information, the assistant generates recommended configurations, including network profiles and access policies, to support an optimized setup.
The assistant automates key onboarding tasks, such as configuring wireless networks and managing VLAN settings, reducing the complexity associated with manual setup. It also provides contextual recommendations tailored to the deployment scenario, improving accuracy and consistency of configurations. It includes proactive validation mechanisms that detect configuration issues during setup and provide corrective prompts.
Requirements
The following conditions are necessary to use the Onboarding Sub-agent:
- Access to RUCKUS One and the DSE interface is required.
- Your RUCKUS One user account must be assigned to one of the following system-defined privilege groups: Prime Admin or Administrator. Custom groups are not supported.
Considerations
Consider the following when using the Onboarding Sub-agent:
- Configuration recommendations are based on user inputs and predefined system logic.
- The onboarding process follows a guided workflow and requires user interaction at each stage.
- The agent provides recommendations but does not prevent modification of suggested configurations.
Limitations
The following are limitations of the Onboarding Sub-agent:
- RUCKUS Edge configurations are excluded. Only Wi-Fi Networks (excluding Hotspot 2.0 Access) and Switch Configuration Profile VLANs are supported.
- Up to five networks (with at least one required) and up to five VLANs can be created per onboarding session.
Best Practices
Consider the following recommendations when using the Onboarding Sub-agent:
- Provide accurate and complete deployment inputs to improve configuration recommendations.
- Review generated network profiles and adjust them based on specific operational requirements.
- Use the guided workflow through to completion to ensure all required configuration steps are completed.
Prerequisites
The following prerequisites apply before you use the Onboarding Sub-agent:
- Ensure access to RUCKUS One and the DSE interface.
-
Ensure your RUCKUS One user account is assigned to one of the following system-defined privilege groups: Prime Admin or Administrator. Custom groups are not supported.
