Live Data Sub-agent

The Live Data Sub-agent enables administrators to retrieve live operational information from their RUCKUS One deployment using natural-language queries.

Feature Overview

The Live Data Sub-agent enables administrators to interact with their RUCKUS One deployment using natural-language queries and receive real-time operational data through the RUCKUS Digital System Engineer (DSE) interface. Instead of navigating multiple pages or manually searching for information, administrators can ask questions about network inventory, device status, client connectivity, alarms, events, activities, and licensing information.

The agent accesses supported RUCKUS One APIs and returns live data from the tenant account. Responses are generated based on the current state of the deployment and reflect the information that is available to the signed-in user through existing RUCKUS One role-based access control (RBAC) permissions.
Note: The Live Data Sub-agent provides read-only access to operational data. It does not create, modify, or delete RUCKUS One resources, and it cannot perform administrative actions or configuration changes.

The agent supports a variety of operational and troubleshooting scenarios, allowing administrators to quickly obtain information without navigating multiple dashboards or reports.

Examples of supported queries include:

  • How many APs are currently connected?
  • Show current critical alarms.
  • Which networks use WPA3?
  • When does my license expire?

Depending on the query, the agent may also provide suggested follow-up questions to help administrators continue investigating network conditions or obtain additional information.

Requirements

The following conditions are required to use the Live Data Sub-agent:

  • Access to RUCKUS One and the DSE interface is required.
  • Your RUCKUS One user account must be assigned to one of the following system-defined privilege groups: Prime Admin or Administrator. Custom groups are not supported.

Considerations

Consider the following when using the Live Data Sub-agent:

  • The agent retrieves live operational information from supported RUCKUS One APIs.
  • Responses are generated based on the current state of the deployment at the time the query is executed.
  • Information returned by the agent is subject to the RBAC permissions of the signed-in user.
  • The agent returns text-based responses.
  • Follow-up questions may be suggested to help refine or expand the results.
  • The availability of information depends on the supported data sources and APIs accessible to the agent.

Limitations

The following are limitations of the Live Data Sub-agent:

  • The agent provides read-only access to RUCKUS One operational data.
  • The agent cannot create, update, or delete RUCKUS One resources.
  • The agent cannot perform administrative or configuration actions.
  • Responses are limited to supported RUCKUS One APIs and supported query types.
  • Results depend on the availability of data within the tenant account.
  • Responses are returned as text and do not generate dashboards, widgets, or configuration workflows.

Best Practices

Consider the following recommendations when using the Live Data Sub-agent:

  • Ask clear and specific questions to obtain the most relevant results.
  • Include device names, venue names, network names, or other identifiers when applicable.
  • Use follow-up questions to narrow or expand the scope of the results.
  • Use the agent to investigate operational conditions, alarms, activities, events, and inventory status.
  • Verify returned information before performing operational or administrative actions.
  • Start a new conversation when switching to a different topic or investigation.

Prerequisites

The following prerequisites apply before you use the Live Data Sub-agent:

  • Ensure access to RUCKUS One and the DSE chat interface.
  • Ensure your RUCKUS One user account is assigned to one of the following system-defined privilege groups: Prime Admin or Administrator. Custom groups are not supported.
