Knowledgebase Sub-agent

The Knowledgebase Sub-agent integrates with RUCKUS public resources, support systems, and application programming interfaces (APIs) to deliver contextual, AI-assisted responses that help you investigate and understand network conditions.

Feature Overview

The Knowledgebase Sub-agent in RUCKUS One delivers contextual answers by searching and synthesizing relevant public-facing product documentation, the RUCKUS Community forums, and the RUCKUS Support Portal knowledge base. It summarizes published guidance to help you understand reported issues and potential next steps. The output is informational and supports investigation and decision‑making.

You can interact with the agent by entering questions in the RUCKUS Digital System Engineer (DSE) interface (accessible by clicking the Ask DSE button) in RUCKUS One. Following are sample questions to ask the agent:

  • How do I block excessive broadcast and multicast traffic on an ICX switch?
  • Why is my access point (AP) LED blinking red?
  • How do I set up an ICX switch from scratch to work with RUCKUS One?
  • How can I set up a captive portal for a hotel, and what are the recommended best practices?
Example: Knowledgebase Sub-agent Processing and Answering a User Question

In this example, the agent interprets the question, evaluates the reported symptom against operational states such as power, boot-up, and recovery modes, identifies possible causes, and references relevant documentation artifacts to support the explanation.

Requirements

The following conditions are necessary for utilizing the Knowledgebase Sub-agent:

  • Access to the DSE chat interface in RUCKUS One.
  • Your RUCKUS One user account must be assigned to one of the following system-defined privilege groups: Prime Admin or Administrator. Custom groups are not supported.

Considerations

Consider the following when using the Knowledgebase Sub-agent:

  • The agent is limited to informational guidance and does not perform configuration changes.
  • The quality of response depends on available knowledge.
  • Citations may not always be included in responses.

Limitations

The following are limitations of the Knowledgebase Sub-agent:

  • The Knowledgebase Sub-agent supports questions related to RUCKUS One scope.
  • The agent can answer only according to the supported and available data sources.

Best Practices

Consider the following recommendations to use the Knowledgebase Sub-agent effectively:

  • Ask product, configuration, troubleshooting, or best-practice questions in natural language so the agent can retrieve and correlate the most relevant knowledge sources.
  • Use the Knowledgebase Sub-agent to investigate conditions and understand possible causes, and not as a tool for direct configuration changes or automated remediation.
  • Review the citations that accompany a response when they are available so you can verify the source of the information and continue deeper research if needed.
  • Keep your questions within the context of RUCKUS One. The agent cannot answer questions outside of the RUCKUS One scope.

Prerequisites

The following prerequisites apply before you use the Knowledgebase Sub-agent:

  • Ensure that you can access RUCKUS One and the DSE chat interface.
  • Ensure your RUCKUS One user account is assigned to one of the following system-defined privilege groups: Prime Admin or Administrator. Custom groups are not supported.
