AV Profile

The AV Profile feature simplifies how Audio/Visual (AV) settings are applied to switch ports by using predefined or custom templates. This ensures consistent and optimized AV behavior across supported ICX8200 switches.

Feature Overview

The AV Profile feature provides a simple way to manage Audio/Visual (AV) configurations on supported switches. You apply predefined or custom AV templates to switch ports to ensure consistent behavior for technologies such as AES67, Dante, NDI, Q-SYS, Voice, and other streaming systems. The feature reduces configuration complexity by replacing manual AV settings with reusable templates and profiles.

This approach simplifies AV configuration, ensures consistent behavior across multiple ports, reduces configuration errors, and supports common AV traffic patterns and workflows.

The feature provides the following:

  • Default AV Templates: Predefined templates for AES67, Dante, NDI5, Q-SYS, Video, Voice, Savant, and Data. These templates cannot be edited or deleted.
  • Custom Templates: You create templates tailored to your AV needs.
  • Profiles: You use profiles to apply a template to one or more switch ports.

Requirements

This feature is supported on RUCKUS AV ICX 8200 switches only. Supported models are:

  • ICX 8200-24PV
  • ICX 8200-48P
  • ICX 8200-48PF
  • ICX 8200-48PF2
  • ICX 8200-C08PFV

Considerations

Consider the following when you use this feature:

  • Deleting an assigned AV Profile does not remove the AV settings that were already applied to switches.
  • You assign AV Profiles to ports in the Port Settings interface.
  • Each AV Profile must use one AV Template, but multiple profiles can use the same template.

Limitations

  • Default templates cannot be modified or removed.
  • Templates that are in use cannot be modified or removed.
  • Profiles that are in use cannot be edited.
  • You can assign only one AV Profile to a port at a time.
