Workflow Management

The RUCKUS One Enrollment System allows you to create a customized onboarding workflow that provides a portal interface for clients to use for network access.

Feature Overview

The RUCKUS One Enrollment System empowers network administrators to create and deploy device onboarding workflows. This feature simplifies the process of creating guest portals for end-user access to a network, reduces manual effort, and ensures the application of consistent security policies.

Key Benefits:

  • Streamlined Device Onboarding: Introduce new and improved end-user device enrollment processes, reducing manual intervention and accelerating deployment.
  • Enhanced Security: Implement robust security policies to protect your network.
  • Improved User Experience: Provide a seamless onboarding experience for end users by guiding them through the process with clear, step-by-step instructions.
  • Flexible Workflows: Customize workflows to match your specific network requirements and end-user needs.
  • Centralized Management: Manage and monitor device onboarding processes from a single, intuitive interface.
  • Workflow Validation: Validate onboarding workflows by checking each step and overall workflow rules. This ensures workflows meet all criteria before they can be published.
  • Secure Authentication: Enable secure user validation through an Identity Provider service (such as SAML IdP) or a Directory Server service (such as Active Directory or LDAP).

Workflow Designer:

In the Network Control > Service Catalog section of the RUCKUS One UI, selecting the Workflows tile allows you to create a draft version of an onboarding workflow. The interactive Workflow Designer wizard provides access to all available plugins (services), which can be customized and added to the workflow. The plugins are compiled in an Actions Library and are organized by user interaction experience, device onboarding methods, authentication methods, and operational actions. Plugins include:
  • Creating an Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) for users and adding a Custom Message to the portal design.
  • Authenticating users using SAML Authentication or Directory Server Authentication.
  • Adding a step to Display a Form to collect user information.
After a plugin (service) is added to the workflow, it appears as a process flow tile in the Workflow Designer. In workflow configuration mode, clicking on any process flow tile displays two interactive icons:
  • provides access to Edit, Preview, and Delete functions.
  • provides access to the Actions Library to add another plugin below the current process step.

After all necessary plugins have been configured and added to the workflow, the wizard allows you to publish the workflow.
