  5. In the Trace Route sub-tab, enter the host name or a valid IP address in the Target host or IP address field, then enter a number ranging from 1 through 225 for the Maximum TTL (Hops) field, and click Run.
The trace route result is displayed. Optionally, you can click Copy Output to copy the result into the temporary storage area (clipboard) of your local machine for pasting and saving elsewhere.
  6. In the IP Route sub-tab, click Show Route. The IP route result is displayed. Optionally, you can click Copy Output to copy the result into the temporary storage area (clipboard) of your local machine for pasting and saving elsewhere.
  7. In the MAC Address Table sub-tab, click Show Table, without selecting any filters, to obtain a complete list of all active entries (including the MAC address, port number, type, and VLAN ID).

If you would prefer to obtain filtered results, select a category in the Refine table by drop-down list and provide a specific value for the category, then click Show Table. The result is the list of all active entries (including the MAC address, port number, type, and VLAN ID) matching your selected filters. If you do not provide a specific value for the selected category, then the result is the same as running Show Table without any filtering. MAC address table filter options are as follows:

    • Select Connected Port and then select a port number to view the total number of MAC address entries for the specified Ethernet port.
    • Select VLAN and then select a VLAN ID to view the total number of active MAC addresses for the specified VLAN.
    • Select MAC Address Table and then enter a valid MAC address to view the information associated with the specified MAC address.

Optionally, you can click Clear to clear the display window and reset the filters.

Optionally, you can click Copy Output to copy the result into the temporary storage area (clipboard) of your local machine for pasting and saving elsewhere.

  8. In the Cable Test sub-tab, select the ICX switch port number from the Port drop-down list, and click Run test to check the cable health. Make sure the following prerequisites are fulfilled before starting the cable test:
    • The port speed must be set to Auto (Overview > Ports > Port Number check box > Edit > Edit Port sidebar)
    • The port must be copper; fiber optic ports are not supported. To confirm the port type, navigate to Overview > Ports and enable the Optics column to appear in the Ports table.
    • The RUCKUS ICX switch firmware must support CLI mode, which is available beginning with RUCKUS ICX switch firmware versions FastIron 10.0.10f or later, or 10.0.20b or later

When you run the test, a warning message is displayed. Click Yes to continue.

Attention: This test might result in the adjacent ports flapping causing network disruption as a result.

The cable test result displays the overall status of the tested cable, the status of the individual pairs (A, B, C, and D), and a brief summary of the problem with suggested solutions. Following are the results that may be displayed:

    • OK: All pairs are terminated properly
    • Open: One or more pairs are open
    • Shorted: One or more pairs are shorted
    • Failed: The test fails for one or more pairs
    • Unknown: An unknown error occurred during the test

Optionally, you can click Copy CLI Output to copy the result into the temporary storage area (clipboard) of your local machine for pasting and saving elsewhere. Optionally, you can click Clear to clear the display window and reset the port selection filter.
