Managing License Compliance and Usage
The Compliance page offers comprehensive information about licenses, detailing their usage, status, and compliance levels. This thorough overview aids in strategic planning and effective management of licenses, ensuring that future licensing needs are met efficiently and in accordance with regulatory requirements.

On the RUCKUS One web interface, navigate to Subscriptions and
click the Compliance tab.
The Compliance page displays the following information:

Subscriptions - My Account License Expiration:
This panel provides a comprehensive overview of the number of configured devices, such as access points (APs) and switches, along with the number of licenses currently in use. It offers detailed information about all active licenses and those assigned to specific devices. This includes calculating the total number of licenses used and those available for future use.
For instance, in the preceding figure, there are a total of 10 assigned licenses. Out of these, only 2 licenses are currently in use, which means that 8 licenses are still available. This detailed breakdown helps in effectively managing and planning for future licensing needs by providing clear visibility into the current license usage and availability.

Subscriptions - MSP Customers License Expiration:
This panel provides a comprehensive overview of the licenses configured for devices such as access points (APs) and switches, along with the number of licenses currently in use. . It displays detailed information about the active licenses, those currently in use, and the balance available for future use.
For example, in the preceding figure, there are a total of 326 active licenses. Out of these, only 1 license is currently in use, which means that 325 licenses are still available for deployment. Additionally, the panel offers visibility into the next expiration dates of the licenses. Specifically, it shows that 200 licenses will expire by April 22nd, 2025.
The View Details option provides access, on a per-customer basis, to customer status, service expiry, the numbers of licenses assigned, available, and used, and the numbers of configured devices (APs, switches, Edge devices, and RWGs). This detailed information helps in effective license management by providing a clear picture of current usage, availability, and upcoming expirations, enabling better planning and allocation of resources.
- Device Networking Subscriptions - License Distance Calculator: This tool takes a start date and end date to calculate the quantity of licenses available during that period (Max Licenses tab), and it also takes a start date and quantity to determine the end date for the specified quantity of licenses (Max Period tab).
- Device Networking Active Paid Licenses Chart: The License Distance Calculator panel also provides an option to view a bar chart displaying the number of available licenses projected over the next two years.

Subscriptions - MSP Customers License Expiration panel.
The Device Networking Subscriptions sidebar provides a detailed overview of various aspects related to MSP customers and their licenses. It includes the MSP customer name, license status, expiry date, number of assigned licenses, number of active licenses, and the number of licenses configured for devices such as access points (APs), switches, and RWGs.
You can filter the list by searching for specific customer names and license statuses. For trial licenses, the sidebar displays statuses such as TRIAL and MSP ECs in Paid Mode. For paid licenses, the statuses Active and Inactive are shown. This comprehensive information helps in managing and tracking licenses effectively, ensuring that you have a clear understanding of the current licensing situation for each customer.

(Optional) Calculate the number
of available licenses within a date range. In the Max Licenses tab of the
Device Networking Subscriptions - License Distance Calculator panel,
select the Start
Date and End Date from the
calendar and click Calculate. The system will then display the number of available
licenses that can be assigned for the specified date range. In this example
scenario, the administrator wants to how many licenses are available for use
from November 19, 2024, through April 8, 2025; the answer is displayed as a
quantity, 93.
Note: If you select an end date for which there are no available licenses, a message will appear prompting you to choose an earlier date.This feature ensures that you can effectively manage and allocate licenses within the given time-frame, avoiding any potential shortages.

(Optional) Calculate the maximum
period of time available for a specific number of licenses based on the
specified start date. In the Max Period tab of the Device Networking
Subscriptions - License Distance Calculator panel, select the Start Date from
the calendar and enter the number of licenses in # of Licenses,
then click Calculate. The tool determines the end date for the specified
quantity of licenses. In the example scenario, the administrator wants to how
long 10 licenses will be available for use starting on December 1, 2024; the
answer is displayed as an end date, April 22, 2025.
Note: If you enter a value greater than the available quantity, a message will prompt you to enter a lower quantity in the number of licenses field.
This feature ensures that you can plan and manage your license usage over time. By providing a clear end date for a given number of licenses, it helps prevent over-allocation and ensures that you have the necessary licenses available when needed. This detailed information aids in strategic planning and effective resource management, allowing you to make informed decisions about your licensing needs.

In the Device Networking
Subscriptions - License Distance Calculator panel, you can click

Here to view future licenses calculated based on current license
assignments and usage. The graphical representation provides a predictive
analysis for the current month through the end of the current year plus two full
calendar years, offering a clear and detailed forecast of license trends.
Note: The bar graph exclusively represents active paid licenses.Note: The bar's height shows the number of available active paid licenses on the last day of each month.
For instance, in the following example image, the panel shows that 130 devices are currently configured and 146 licenses are in use. You can also track the number of active licenses on a monthly basis by clicking on the bar to display a pop-up box detailing the number of licenses on the first and last day of that month, as well as every other day for which the license quantity changes.. In the example image, the maximum number of active licenses was 525 on January 2, 2025; this number gradually decreases throughout the month due to licenses expiring after that date. The orange line on the graph represents the licenses used as of today, providing a real-time snapshot of current license usage. This detailed visualization helps in understanding license dynamics over time, ensuring better planning and management of resources.
