Managing MAC Registrations

Managing MAC registrations comprises your ability to add, import, edit, delete, revoke, and unrevoke MAC addresses for a specific MAC Registration List.

  1. In the navigation bar, click Network Control > Policies & Profiles.
    The Policies & Profiles page is displayed.
  2. In the Policies & Profiles page, click the MAC Registration List tile.
  3. Click on the name of the MAC Registration List for which MAC addresses must be managed.
    The Overview tab displays by default.
  4. Click the MAC Registrations tab, choose one from the following options.
    All MAC addresses defined for this MAC Registration List are displayed in the table.
  5. Perform the necessary action by following one of the following sets of instructions:
    1. Add a single MAC address.
      1. Click Add MAC Address; the Add MAC Address sidebar is displayed.

      2. Enter the MAC address (required), optionally enter the username and e-mail ID, and select the desired MAC Address Expiration option. Click Add to save the MAC registration.
    2. Import multiple MAC addresses.
      1. Click Import From File; the Import from File sidebar is displayed.
      2. Click Download template to download the CSV template locally.
      3. Using a spreadsheet program, open the CSV file, complete the following fields (MAC Address, Username, E-mail, MAC Address Expiration Date, Device Name, and Location), and save the CSV file.
      4. In the Import from File sidebar, click Browse, and then locate the CSV file, and then click Open. Alternatively, drag and drop the CSV file to the gray box in the Import from File sidebar. Click Import to save the MAC registrations.
    3. Edit a MAC address.
      1. Select the radio button beside the MAC address and click Edit; the Edit MAC Address sidebar appears.
      2. Edit the required MAC address fields and click Done. The MAC registration is updated.
    4. Delete a MAC address.
      1. Select the radio button beside the MAC address and click Delete; the Delete confirmation dialog box is displayed.
      2. Click Delete MAC Address. The MAC address is removed from the table.
    5. Revoke a MAC address.
      1. Select the radio button beside the MAC address and click Revoke; the MAC address is immediately revoked (as reflected in the Status column of the MAC Registrations table).
    6. Unrevoke a MAC address.
      1. Select the radio button beside the MAC address and click Unrevoke; the MAC address is immediately activated (as reflected in in the Status column of the MAC Registrations table).
